Vuelta a casa

Hace mucho calor, las habitaciones están tranquilas y oscuras. Los gatos se estiran en el suelo buscando tregua. No hay nubes. Ninguna. La ciudad está vacía y los árboles se mecen con la brisa. Puedes oir los pájaros y los insectos revoloteando en los patios traseros.

Hay un ambiente de espera, de suspenso. Me encanta. 

Se recuperan rituales olvidados, pequeños placeres cotidianos: abrir la nevera y notar el frío, darse una ducha a medianoche, tumbarse en el suelo del pasillo en las horas de más calor, jugar con Frida y Totó a cazar insectos de peluche, comer fruta fresca, pasear al atardecer por las calles antiguas del centro, hacer fotos a los comercios cerrados...

El verano en casa es muy diferente, pero me gusta.

It's very hot! The rooms are quiet and dark. The cats stretch on the floor in search of a truce. There are no clouds. None. The city is empty and the trees sway with the breeze. You can hear the birds and insects' songs in backyards. 

There is an atmosphere of suspense... I love it. 

In the summer we recover forgotten rituals, some of the everyday small pleasures: open the refrigerator and feel the cold kissing you, take a shower at midnight, lie on the floor of the hall in the heat of the day, playing with Frida and Toto hunting insects, eating fresh fruit, go for evening strolls in the old streets downtown, taking pictures of closed shops ...

Summer at home is very different, but I like it.
