It is very hot, the moisture seeps through the vegetation. The summer light penetrates deep into the mangrove. Suddenly, a group of floating butterflies appears. Mr. Fox is deeply surprised: it has never seen golden or silvered butterflies. There's always a first time.

We present you with the new theater we've made during these days at home. It's similar to this one, but in a more summery forest. It already has a new home.

:)

Greetings from The Mansion of Cats and happy Wednesday!

Vuelta a casa

Me encanta.

It's very hot! The rooms are quiet and dark. The cats stretch on the floor in search of a truce. There are no clouds. None. The city is empty and the trees sway with the breeze. You can hear the birds and insects' songs in backyards.

There is an atmosphere of suspense... I love it.

In the summer we recover forgotten rituals, some of the everyday small pleasures: open the refrigerator and feel the cold kissing you, take a shower at midnight, lie on the floor of the hall in the heat of the day, playing with Frida and Toto hunting insects, eating fresh fruit, go for evening strolls in the old streets downtown, taking pictures of closed shops ...

Summer at home is very different, but I like it.

The photos are all from the "Mansion of the Cats". They were taken during these summer days. If you want to see more, you can visit us on Instagram.

We spent ten days traveling around various islands of the central group of the Azores: Terceira, Faial, Pico and São Jorge (we couldn't go to Graciosa).
Miguel's family welcomed us yet another year i Terceira island. Thanks for everything, for the love!

The Azores lie in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The air is moist, the land crawls with luxurious vegetation and beautiful landscapes.
A perfect place to receive the most exquisite aesthetic lessons from Mother Nature.

The sea is very different for that we are used to, here in the Mediterranean. It's cold and deep blue, with strong waves and inhabitable cliffs. But once you get into it, it provides you with unforgettable experiences.
We saw several species of dolphins, sperm whales, bottlenose whales peak ... by snorkelling we saw species such as bream, the barracuda, queen fish, the salema or garoupa.

Strangely, these islands are still not very popular. But slowly begin to receive more and more tourists seeking a holiday in a different place: away from the beaches, blazing sun and the masses. No doubt we recommend these stunning landscapes, volcanic scenarios and costs. And of course, the diving and fishing.

Miguel's family has a traditional house in the middle of nowhere in the Algarve (south of Portugal). It's a place surrounded by fruit trees and fields: orange, almond, fig trees, etc. We spent a few days there falling in love with the quiteness of the countryside, sincere and friendly people, the long walks and swimming in crystal clear and cold waters.

When you come from the city and spend a few days in the countryside, surrounded by nature, you become aware of the passing of time. Our mind abandons the usual routines and there is space for new ideas, new experiences... even parts of oneself left in the background by the speed of city are allowed to come forward. Our stay in the south of Portugal has given us the opportunity to stop, to focus on resting and eating (those wonderful homemade recipes prepared by Isilda, Miguel's grandmother) To observe with a blank mind.

Thanks a lot for those days and nights.
