Teatro de papel: Invasión en el árbol

Ya es primavera. La llegada del calor atrae a las aves migratorias hacia tierras más cálidas y luminosas.

Después de un largo viaje, se posan en un árbol a descansar: hay que arreglarse las plumas y coger fuerzas para disfrutar del buen tiempo.

 

 

It is Springtime. With the warm wheather come the migratory birds.

After their long journey, they land in a tree to rest: it's time to clean their feathers and to enjoy the good weather.

 

 

¡Como veis tenemos nuevo teatrillo! Al igual que los demás, está hecho en una caja de cartón reciclado y las figuritas con papel recortado y pintado a mano.

Las medidas son: 13 x 9 x 5 cm. aproximadamente (alto x ancho x profundo) y puede colgarse en la pared o regalar como detalle decorativo.

As you can see, we have a new paper theater! Similarly to the others, it is made inside a recycled cardboard box and all the rest is handmade.

Measurements: 13 x 9 x 5 cm, approximately (h x w x d). You can hang them on the wall and it will look beautiful.

Descanso en el norte

Os escribimos de vuelta de unos días de descanso con unos amigos en la Merindad de Valdivielso (Burgos). 

Pedro y su família nos alojaron en su maravillosa casa. 

La historia que nos contaron vale la pena: tiempo atrás decidieron emprender un proyecto de reabilitación de una casa armera (palacios de hidalgos con escudo en la fachada, muy típicas de la zona) y después de un tiempo mirando casas por el valle, escogieron un palacio de la localidad de Arrollo y lo reabilitaron. 

Lo que más nos gustó de la historia fue que le dieron un enfoque familiar: recontruyeron la casa como un proyecto conjunto, con el objetivo de crear un espacio de descanso y reunión entre amigos y parientes. El resultado es un lugar mágico (con historia documentada desde el siglo XVII) donde hemos pasado horas maravillosas.

 

 

 

 

We write again after a few days off with some friends at the Merindad de Valdivielso (Burgos).

Pedro and his family were our hosts at their wonderful home. 

Their story is worth telling: some years ago they decided to start a  restoration project of a noble palace with a shield in the front door, very typical of that area. They did this in Arroyo, a small and almost uninhabited village (with history documented since the seventeenth century).

What we liked about the story was that the whole family worked together in the project: they created a meeting point for friends and relatives. The result is a magical place where we spent wonderful hours.

 

 

 

Nosotros vivimos en una zona que tiene sol y cielos azules todo el año, un paisaje muy diferente al del Valle de Valdivielso. Este lugar tiene un clima diferente: hay bosques trémulos de rocío, vegetación húmeda y pasos de agua, valles y montañas que dan hogar a rapaces, buitres leonados, corzos, ginetas, zorros... Y el silencio.

Durante estos días hemos podido recorrer un par de rutas a pie sin duda recomendables, sin olvidar las ermitas e iglesias de las diferentes localidades. Todas las aldeas de la merindad tienen un patrimonio abundante, principalmente de la época del Románico y del Renacimiento. A nosotros nos pareció maravilloso, en especial la Iglesia de San Pedro de Tejada en Puente Arenas y un monasterio abandonado (no recordamos el nombre) que hubiera encantado a los románticos más empedernidos.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We live in Valencia, a city with sun and blue sky all year. The landscape is very different from Valle de Valdivielso, which has deep forests, wet vegetation, rivers with rapids and waterfalls, valleys and mountains that are home to vultures, deers, wild pigs, genets, foxes ... and silence.
 

During these days we did some trekking (absolutely recommended), seen chapels and churches from different villages. There is abundant heritage from the Romanesque and Renaissance periods (wow). For us it was wonderful. Especially the San Pedro de Tejada Church in Puente Arenas and an abandoned monastery (we don't remember the name...) that would be a wonder to a die-hard romantic.

 

 

 

 

Y por supuesto, ¡no nos olvidamos de la maravillosa carne que tienen! Comimos cordero al horno de leña, chuletitas a la brasa, morcillita de Burgos, choricitos, quesos de oveja y cabra... además de unas sobremesas con tés y licores (pacharán casero entre otras delicias) que recordaremos largo tiempo. Mmmm... con lo que nos gusta comer y lo que disfrutamos con productos nuevos ¡no podéis imaginar los banquetes que nos dimos! Sin duda, en el norte se come muy, muy bien.

 

And of course, we can't forget the wonderful food they have! We ate lamb cooked in a traditional oven, grilled chops, Burgos sausage, sheep and goat cheese ... in addition to an incredible amount of teas and drinks (homemade pacharán among other delicacies) will remember this experience for a long long time. Mmmm ... It is confirmed, in the north they eat very, very well.

 

Esperamos volver pronto por la zona, ¡se nos han quedado muchas cosas por ver! Muchas gracias a Pedro y su família, han sido muy simpáticos y hospitalarios con nosotros. ¡Sois muy majetes!

 

We hope we can go there again. We still have many things to see! Thank you very much to Pedro and his family. They were very friendly and incredibly generous hosts!

¡Novedades mil!

¡Hola! ¿que tal va todo?

Volvemos a escribir después de unos días de frenética actividad. Nos ha dado por la manufactura, nos hemos pasado horas jugando. Para que no haya quejas, os enseñamos las novedades:

1.- ILUSTRACIÓN:

Últimamente Miguel está en plan creativo, a tope, lo que se traduce en unos dibujitos la mar de majos. Quiere hacer un librito para niños con ilustraciones, una historia tierna. Pinta con acuarela y rotuladores. Y esto es lo que le ha salido por ahora:

 

 

 

 

 

Hello! How is it going?

We finally can come back to write another post. These last days have been full of frenzied activity. We have been dedicating ourselves to manufacture, and spent many many hours doing it :) . Since we've been away for so long we can show you some really nice new stuff.

1. - ILLUSTRATION:

Lately Miguel is being very creative. He is illustrating for a children's book- a very sweet story we will show you soon enough. He's been painting with water colors and markers. Above is some of the material he has come out with so far.

 

 

2.- BOLSO NUEVO:

Ayer cogí la máquina de nuevo porque había una tela que desde hacía tiempo quería utilizar. La compramos tiempo atrás en Barcelona, en una tienda de lo más molona llamada Nunoya (seguro que los que viven allí la conocen porque está en el Gòtic, en pleno centro guirístico).

Se trata de un patrón japonés con líneas geométricas formando estrellas en azul oscuro y blanco. El resultado final fue un bolso, que he subido a La Tienda para los más curiosos :)

Para contrastar los tonos, elegimos como forro una tela amarilla a puntitos. Es uno de mis bolsos favoritos ¡espero que os guste!.

 

 

 

2. - NEW BAG:
 

Yesterday I brought the sewing machine back home. There was a textile I wanted to use for a long time now. We bought it in Barcelona some time ago, ​​in a shop called Nunoya (surely those who live there know it. It's in the Quarter, in the heart of the turists' land :) ).

It has a Japanese geometric pattern in which the lines form blue and white stars. I finally made a bag out of it, which is uploaded in The Shop... for the curious :)

I used a yellow lining textile inside to match the tones. This is one of my favorite bags so far...I hope you like it!

3.- COJÍN DE FLORES:

Ya que tenía la máquina delante y hacía sol en la habitación decidí aprovechar el momento y hacer un conjín de flores con una tela que ya conocéis (reciclada de una camiseta del mercadillo). Se que es repetirme... pero este motivo me parece precioso y me sobraba un poquito, ji, ji.

 

 3. - FLOWER CUSHION:
 

I had the machine in front of me and it was a sunny day...so I decided to seize the moment and make a flowered pillow with a very nice textile. I think you may already know it -it's a recycled shirt from a flea market- I repeated the pattern, I know... but it is sooo beautiful ...and I still had a small piece of this textile around the house...

 

4.- BORDADO REGALO DE TATI:

Tenemos una amiga que le encanta experimentar con materiales y técnicas diferentes. No le asusta nada, cuando le interesa algo aprende y ya está. Hace un tiempo empezó con el bordado. Un día fui a su casa y me enseñó un par de diseños que había hecho. Como es tan majeta me regaló uno, pero con una condición: que lo hiciera cojín de semillas (de esos que metes en el microondas y se calienta), nada de colgarlo o enmarcarlo. La verdad es que me hubiera molado ponerlo en la pared con un bastidor... pero la artista decide. Como ya no hace frío no me veía rellenando el saquito de arroz o lino, pero por no traicionar la voluntad de Tati ha terminado siendo cojín. 

Su creación podría titularse "Pin-up Barbacue" (es una mujerzuela de dudosa reputación aventando una barbacoa). ¡Se sale!

 

4. - EMBROIDERY GIFT OF TATI:

We have a friend who loves to try out anything with different types of materials and techniques. She is not afraid of doing stuff and if she is interested in learning something...she does it! Some time ago she started with embroidery. One day I went to her house and she showed me a couple of designs she was working on. She gave me one :)  with one condition: that I stuffed it with seeds (the kind of pillows you put in the microwave and heat up). I was specifically forbidden to make something to hang or framed with her gift. The truth is that I would have loved to put it on the wall ... but the artist decides. I ended up doing a small pillow.

His creation might be entitled "Pin-up Barbacue".Great!

 

 

 

 

5.- ERIZOS MOLONES:

¡Ya tenemos listos los broches del Sr. Erizo! Al final han quedado muy divertidos.

5. - THE GROOVY HEDGEHOGS:

We finally have the Mr. Hedgehog clips ready! In the end they turned out very funny.

6.- EL SEÑOR ZORRO CON PELAJE DE PRIMAVERA:

Por otro lado, para estrenar esta nueva estación también hemos ampliado la colección de broches del Sr. Zorro con colores nuevos: blanco, gris claro, gris oscuro y verde oliva. Quedan muy bien sobre ropas de colores sobrios. 

Lo cierto es que nos ha sorprendido el resultado (ya sabéis, un zorro verde oliva, como que no lo ves claro...).

¡Estamos muy contentos con estos broches!

Y cómo no, al igual que el bolso y los erizos, también están en La Tienda.

 

6. - THE SPRINGTIME FURRED RUNNING FOX:
 

To kick off the season we expanded the collection of the running Fox with some new colors: white, light gray, dark gray and olive green. They match perfectly on top of sober clothes. The truth is that the result has surprised us (you know, an olive green fox...it's not exactly clear ...).

They are also at The Shop, if you want to take a peak.

 

 

 

 

¡Bueno pues esto es todo por ahora! ¿Que os parecen las cosicas? Nos hace mucha ilusión mostrarlas, además nos hemos divertido a tope haciéndolas.
