On our way back home we passed by many beautiful places.
Due to our weakness for cultural heritage (it is what we studied), and whenever the opportunity arises, we slip into chapels, churches, palaces and monuments of all kind. We are not driven by spirituality rather by the love for good artisan and artists' work. Good taste and desire for perfection has existed ever since man is man. We find very entertaining to observe the hidden details in the pieces they have created. We classify objects by style, we find connections between different places ... or we just contemplate in silence a beautiful scenario. Discovering new places is one of our favorite hobbies.
On our way back home, we stopped for four hours in the city of Burgos and visited its huge cathedral. It is full of altars, tombs and saints from the past. The historical center is beautiful. It has a river bed surrounded by colorful houses. As we continued our trip to the south, we crossed the province of Soria. The lonely landscape was sprinkled with small Romanesque churches, colourful fields full of poppies, quiet and hidden villages behind the hills. Finally, before we arrived to Valencia, we spent the night in Atienza, a medieval village with an amazing castle.
One of the best things about living in the peninsula is that the variety of people and customs is infinite. It is always an incredible thing to visit the green north, to walk the hills of the two Castillas (the regions between north and south) and discover their hidden villages and castles.
Traveling although with an incredible low budget is our main hobby.
