To join the cloud brooches we already have in our repertoire, we designed a new set of rain droplets. One of them is glad to finally leave the skies. It comes down to Earth in search of adventures and new friends. The other is a bit disappointed, she loves it's warm and floating cloud and does not feel like falling down to become a puddle, then river and sea. A droplet for every type of person: one for the energetic adventurers and the other for the lovers of silence and blankets.

Grandma Isilda is an excellent cook.
She knows all the traditional Portuguese food secrets and always prepares tasty and surprising dishes. We are from close countries, but I am always surprised about the use of herbs and spices. Isilda never adds too much, but somehow she gets the perfect balance, the exact point where no ingredient masks the other. My favorite herb is the peppermint, especially when it is floating on a homemade chicken stew.

We attach her best pastry recipe. It is so famous that it carries Isilda's name. I strongly recommend trying it. When fresh these small sugar and cinnamon rings are sublime.

- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons of milk
- 6 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of melted butter (not boiled)
- Wheat flour

First mix all ingredients in a bowl, with the exception of the flour. When we have a homogeneous mixture, add flour gradually until dough is elastic but dense and consistent. Then separate small pieces of dough and stretch over the table in the form of rolls. Finally, the ends are joined to form a donut.

Deep fry the donuts in hot sunflower oil. Once fried, passed them through sugar and cinnamon and ... they are ready to eat!

It is a neighborhood built in an impossible slope, greeting Lisbon's river with its roofs and façades. The swallows fly above at full speed while the cats wait under the blue sky.

In tribute to such a magical place as Lisbon, we've built a little vertical and crowded scene, with elegance and harmony.

From here
A couple days ago I founf a diary I wrote during a now distant year of my life, when I was 13 and 14 years old.
Back then it was a time of changes. I just had made new friends, had my first boyfriend, I traveled to Italy and Jordany ...
it was all full of new experiences.

The writing was very naive, one can see immediately how young I was. I made a big deal out of insignificant things, those things
you don't pay attention anymore when you grow up. I suffered so much for such little details, for things people said to me, for so many insecurities.
However, there are amazing parts of the writing. Pure reflections...full of hope. It seems to me now, it was a bold version of
myself, with an adventurous spirit who enjoyed the moment and squeezing them to the limit. I remember situations I
lived then, which were buried in my memory. And next to them is still those emotions I felt back then: an absolute conviction about life, and a lack of
fear for what the future held for me.

There is a moment in which I raised the possibility that in a few years an adult version of myself could read back
what I was writing. Interestingly, I wondered if I would understand all these in the future, or see all that has nonsense
typical of such a strange age. The day I read the diary has come and I'm happy to say that life hasn't punished much:
I still feel identified with these words.

I rescued these two pieces:

"A friend told me something that changed my mind: she says I should just enjoy everyday instead of thinking about the future,
because otherwise time will pass without notice. I'll Try to do that in my daily life. I have everything in life: love,
money, health, family, good education ... we must thank everything! Most of the times I do not even realize how lucky
I am. So thanks to all beings and the circumstances that have given me such a fruitful life. What do I need to be happy?: enjoy what I have"

"I am a little confused because I do not know what to feel, there are many things happening at the same time. In the end I have to let it flow,
because I can not store so many emotions. Sometimes all these emotions come at once, they are totally different from each other. I guess
to grow as a person I have to understand them. I don't want to waste this adventure"

And my favorite (for an hypothetical reader):

"PD: What do you feel when the night is upon you?"

This is a 35mm film. It was shot in San Francisco (USA) in 1906. The camera was mounted on a tram that runs along a street (Market Street) at a speed of about 15km per hour. This is a fascinating document for two reasons. First, because only 11 years had pass since Lumière brothers patented their cinematographer and shot their first film ("Leaving the Lumière factory workers in Lyon Monplaisir"). Second, because the images show a city that four days later would be devastated by the famous earthquake and fire of April 18 (1906).

It is interesting to observe the life of a large city at the beggining of the twentieth century: the introduction of electricity, the passing trams, carriages and cars among the crowds in a complete chaos (no demarcated areas for the vehicles, people and cars in a fragile equilibrium), men's suits (jacket, vest, thin ties, stiff collared shirts, hats) and female dresses (gowns with bulleré, huge feathered hats, corsets. ..). Children working and running right in front of the camera.

As I mentiones before, I love old pictures and videos of the past. I cannot help thinking that this moment
will never return, that these people were captured by the camera and now no longer exist. I always end up thinking
about the fleeting life, how amazing it is to watch someone smile a century ago, someone that never thought
would be seen by me, and that didn't even exist then ... paradoxes of fate.

This was filmed 107 years ago ... and now we see it as if it were a time machine, a window to the past, a time bubble. How will we be seen in 107 years? Will anyone find a pictures of us and wonder who we were? Will all these pictures we collect be forever lost in our virtual memories?.

The second video is the same route after the earthquake.
